[GRASS-user] importing problem

hi everybody

I'm a student and still lake the experience, and working on a project using GRASS,

another problem I pray you'll be able to answer me about it:

I have a problem in importing files using Clarke_1866

my projection information are like  follows:

PROJCS["PCS_Transverse_Mercator",GEOGCS["GCS_Clarke_1866",DATUM["D_Clarke_1866",SPHEROID["Clarke_1866",6378206.4,294.9786982]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],UNIT["Degree",0.017453292519943295]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",500000],PARAMETER["False_Northing",0],PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",-171],PARAMETER["Scale_Factor",0.9996],PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",0],UNIT["Meter",1]]


i tried  g.region, but didn't work with me

sometimes the message was that the size of the information is larger than it shoul be, or I don't know what

please  can you answer me.
