[GRASS-user] map algebra

I was reading a book where the authors talk about "color stimulus".
I then tried to experiment with r.mapcalc. But how can i have a new
image that keeps the real/approximated colors or at least an
intelligible color table?I don't want to get a result with a mix of
colors that seem to be the result of the segmentations i perform with
i.maxlik?

The expression they talk about is:
color stimulus = -3R + 4G + 4B

any suggestions?should i be using different commands?
