This must be definitely improved. You could give us a hand
by starting a Wiki page which then get's improved. For
skilled people here it is often difficult to anticipate
questions from a new-comer - so keep asking! :)

Pretty easy: d.what.rast is taken multiple input:

d.rast image1
d.what.rast image1,image2,image3[,...]
