This is *definitely* caused by using a version of libgis which is
incompatible with the d.histogram executable, e.g. using 6.2.2 libgis
with 6.3-cvs d.histogram or vice-versa.

Check your $PATH and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH settings; also, try running "ldd
$GISBASE/bin/d.histogram".
