[GRASS-user] Georeferencing DXF files.

Hi all.

I finally managed to import dxf files in GRASS 6.2 and subsequently
export the vector data as a shapefile. However, the shapefiles are not
georeferenced.

Now, I'm wondering if I can georeference the shapefile or do I need to
make sure that the dxf is georeferenced prior to importing it in GRASS.

THe reason why I ask is that to georeference a huge 50MB dxf file, I
need the help of autocad but I would like to avoid using this
proprietary software .... Anybody aware of how to georeference vector
data? Maybe within GRASS (so after importing the dxf but before
exporting the shapefile)?

Many thanks
