This is g.proj -p:

PROJ_INFO-------------------------------------------------
name : Universe Transverse Mercator
datum : eur50
towgs84 : -87.000,-98.000,-121.000
proj : utm
ellps : international
a : 6378388.0000000000
es : 0.0067226700
f : 297.0000000000
zone : 33
-PROJ_UNITS------------------------------------------------
unit : meter
units : meters
meters : 1.0

This is g.proj -w:

ROJCS["UTM Zone 33, Northern Hemisphere",
    GEOGCS["international",
        DATUM["European_Datum_1950",
            SPHEROID["International_1924",6378388,297],
            TOWGS84[-87.000,-98.000,-121.000]],
        PRIMEM["Greenwich",0],
        UNIT["degree",0.0174532925199433]],
    PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],
    PARAMETER["latitude_of_origin",0],
    PARAMETER["central_meridian",15],
    PARAMETER["scale_factor",0.9996],
    PARAMETER["false_easting",500000],
    PARAMETER["false_northing",0],
    UNIT["meter",1]]

This is g.proj -j:

proj=utm
+zone=33
+a=6378388
+rf=297
+no_defs
+towgs84=-87.000,-98.000,-121.000
+to_meter=1.0

I have the same output you have, but my geotiff gives a different output,
and I do not understand why.

I have Grass 6.3.0 (WinGRASS-6.3.0-4) and FWTools 2.2.6 (for windows).

Thank you,
