Dear all,
this might be of interest for those of you who would like to complement
their GIS tool chain with another simple-to-use, open source desktop
GIS.
After some months of positive experience with using gvSIG
(http://www.gvsig.gva.es/) at our archaeological company, we have
decided to release an OA Digital Edition for public download.
This version has no source code modifications and uses stable gvSIG 1.1.2.
However, we have worked on the English user interface translations,
updated the Java Runtime Engine to the latest version, added some sample
data and documentation and re-packaged everything into a new, simpler
installer package available for Windows and Linux (Mac OS in the works)
systems here:
http://oadigital.net
Best wishes,
Benjamin
