oops, that was g.proj failing.

g.proj depends on GDAL libs which depends on GEOS.

what version of GDAL is installed? 1.9.0-3.1ubuntu1?

$ dpkg -l | grep libgdal



what does this say:

$ ldd /usr/lib/grass64/bin/g.proj | grep geos

?
