[GRASS-user] georectify (g.gui.gcp) fails !

Dear grass community,
I am using GRASS 70, 32 bits on a ubuntu 14.04 machine.
Everytime I try to use georetify (g.gui.gcp) it fails to show the image in the souce display. i.e. the image group to be rectified. The only error mesagge I get is this python-related message in the terminal:
(python:4047): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_get_direction: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
Have any of you faced the same  problem before?thanks in  advance for any help best regardsRengifo Ortega
