[GRASS-user] Using r.stream.distance on an existing vector dataset of river flows

Hi,

I have a high quality vector dataset describing the river flows (and
order) at the national level, and I would like to use this dataset to
compute the elevation above stream and distance from stream (typically
as an output from r.stream.distance).

Is there any way to do this? I guess it would mainly require to
manually compute the direction raster from the digitsed river flows...
