[GRASS-user] r.proj: display of cell numbers

When I use r.proj to use a DEM in a different location the module shows the
number of cells such as this example:

Input:
Cols: 502 (80961)
Rows: 39234 (113148)

Output:
Cols: 500 (71702)
Rows: 39232 (50757)

In both the input and output locations the resolution is 1m x 1m. What do
the paranthetical values represent?
