[winGRASS] cygwin and winGRASS status update

Dear winGRASS friends,

i just re-installed cygwin and the new xc-4-binaries 4.1.0 on Windows
2000 Professional.
The XFree86 Server seems to be much more advanced than the older
version, but i have still continous crashes. 

I did not start a re-compilation of GRASS and did not re-compile the
required libraries as advised by John Huddleston. John, do you mean that
i should recompile all libraries that are external to the cygwin system
(e. g. tcl/tk 8.x, sunrpc/xdrlib, where do i find the sources for the
rpclib?) or just the libraries i compiled on my own (gd, gdal,
unixODBC)?

Last time i compiled with cygwin 1.1.8/latest gcc i still had the
problem of the XDriver crashing with a stackdump.

Is anyone out there who has a running xdriver? If yes, please post the
version of cygwin.dll and gcc you use. 

I hope that i find more time in mid-july to revisit the problem.
