[winGRASS] d.mon/fifo problems

Hi,

I'm having problems installing GRASS5.0.0 on cygwin/W2000 Professional.
I compiled the source code and everything went OK except for fifo
creation in dev directory. Apparently mknod and mkfifo commands do not
work properly in cygwin (at least in my release) - I am getting message
"Function is not implemented". Can you advise me how to start d.mon
monitor now?
NVIZ works fine, though rather slow. But for simple and quick
visualization I would need d.mon as well.
