[winGRASS] d.mon/fifo problems

Grass 5.0 does not use fifo's but rather uses sockets to communicate with
the monitor.  Check that you are using the source available at:

http://grass.itc.it/wingrass.html

If this is what you have then you'll need to check your configure and make
logs to see what went wrong.

Alternatively try the binary builds available from the above site.
