[winGRASS] not importing blue band of geotiff- maybe to do with 16 versus 8 bit files

Hi,

I had a thought. Maybe this is not working because I'm using a 16-bit 
geotiff and GRASS imports only 8-bit. Does anyone know how to change from 
16-bit to 8-bit in GRASS?

Hi,

I'm using the GRASS import function to import a 3-band Quickbird image. 
I've tried to import it as a geotiff, an ERDAS file, and an ESRI grid. My 
problem is that in all of these formats the blue band will not import- 
GRASS just hangs up when it gets to the band 3 point in the import. Does 
anyone know how to fix this?
