Two things you can try:
1) Instead of entering the directory path name by hand, for
"path to the shape file (OGR data source name)"
use the file chooser and select the shapefile (not the directory, but
the shapefile, with extension) and leave the "OGR layer name" box empty.
2) Try entering the path this way:
/c/world_factbk/world_factbk
