[Ica-osgeo-labs] Advisory Board, nomination of Chris Pettit

Thank you Stephan  for this excellent nomination. Last week i saw for myself at the EU-Australia RI meetings in Canberra the excellent work that Chris has been doing. I was especially impressed by the successful collaborations that he is building with other universities across Australia in Sustainable Cities theme.

I'd like to nominate A/Prof Chris Pettit for the ICA-OSGEO Labs Advisory Board.

Chris is not only coordinating the Melbourne OSGEO Lab (http://www.osgeo.org/node/1369, http://abp.unimelb.edu.au/osgeolab). He is also the Strategic Implementation Coordinator of the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) at the University of Melbourne, a nation-wide $20m project based on open geospatial software. He is Chair of the ISPRS working group on Geographical Visualization and Virtual Reality. He has published more than 100 papers in the areas of geographical visualization, e-research, spatial planning and decision support systems. His current research interests lie in the design of user-centric participatory planning tools which can be applied to a myriad of spatial planning problems including climate change adaptation and managing the built and urban environment.
