[Ica-osgeo-labs] Defining criteria for REL membership

Helena- your point is very important. Let us keep it simple and also give time for the current criteria which is approved by our Advisory Board following indepth discussions and feedbacks/inputs from our community. It took us over 8 months now to finalise this http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Geoforall_criteria  but it was important we  give time for community  discussions to get all views/suggestions.

So let us give a year time to see how this updated criteria works and continue using our wiki table for updating lab links. Next year , based on feedbacks we can think of need of changes/improvements. Thanks all for contributing actively to the discussions.

+1 - I completely agree with Dimitris - please keep in mind that in academia we have enormous load in terms of reporting, writing, reviewing, recommending etc. and the last thing we want to do is to add to the bureaucracy.
Cameron, you might have missed the discussion that we had when setting up the current criteria, but please let us keep it simple -
the board has just approved the first formal criteria, so let us give them some time to see whether they are sufficient
and if there is a need we can formalize them further in future, but I don’t think there is a need for it now.

I will be quite happy if we can have an up to date wiki table with active links and coordinates entered in correct order,
with labs focusing their energy on development of educational material, research and outreach,
