Hi Landon,
There is already OSGEO branding on OTB website
(https://www.orfeo-toolbox.org/community/), I think that it can be
marked as done (item 1).
Concerning the code provenance, I've started to update the wiki
page(https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/OTB_Code_Provenance_Review). I agree
that we're close the complete the process.
As mention in the wiki:
- there were in the past analysis of source code repo commissioned by
CNES to Black Duck software. I don't think I can make it public, I can
perhaps ask the authorization to send you personally. I list conclusions
in the wiki. There were not outstanding issues which pop-up.
- There is also a work in progress code review in the frame of the
modification of the OTB license. I can also not make it public (emails,
contract information related to some contributions...). I can send you a
personal link.
We're making progress but I don't think we'll be able to complete the
updated code review for December (we're not checking here free libraries
included but contributions compatibility to change the licence to Apache).
I don't think that this updated code review should be mandatory for the
osgeo incubation (since code review in 2011 most integrated third
libraries were removed from otb source tree).
The only point is the fact that OTB include the free software 6S which
does not mention any licence. OTB was recently added to DebianGIS repo
and there were discussions on how to handle this (see
https://lists.debian.org/debian-gis/2015/09/msg00005.html).
Things could be improved regarding the integration of 6S in OTB and
license compatibility but there was no blocking issue regarding code
provenance and copyright info IMHO (we make adjustements regarding
copyrights listing following advises of debain packagers).
Let me know how we can continue the process, thanks again Landon for
your help.
Best regards,
Manuel
