Description

We're looking for an experienced software engineer to help us bring open
source geospatial tools to clients around the world. This position works
directly with our clients to streamline implementations and ensure
successful deployment of the OpenGeo software stack.

*About OpenGeo*

The world is seeing an explosion in the amount and variety of
location-based information. At the same time, open source software is
making better analytical tools more widely available.

OpenGeo is at the intersection: we develop open source platforms that make
it easier to manage and share geospatial data.

*Responsibilities*

   - Develop, improve and deliver OpenGeo’s Professional Service (PS)
   offerings to our clients
   - Develop customized configurations of OpenGeo stack ranging from demos
   to production-ready systems
   - Provide market intelligence feedback regarding gaps in our product
   offerings and client’s demands
   - Periodically travel to client sites to support technical
   implementations and in-person meetings with clients and technical staff

*You Offer*

   - Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technical discipline
   - Demonstrated experience architecting, articulating and delivering
   geospatial solutions
   - Substantial experience with clustering and performance optimization
   - Hands-on experience of GIS/geospatial software, particularly PostGIS,
   GeoServer, and OpenLayers
   - Hands-on development/scripting skills using Java, JavaScript, OGC Web
   Services, Python
   - Hands-on skills with System Administration (Linux, Windows),
   Enterprise Security (LDAP, Active Directory, SSL), Test Automation Tools
   (JMeter, SoapUI/LoadUI), ETL (SAFE FME, GDAL/OGR, GeoKettle), Web Servers
   and Architecture (Apache, JEE Containers, REST, HAProxy), Version Control
   (GitHub, Subversion), Amazon EC2

The ideal candidate offers:

   - Understanding of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards
   - Experience with teaching and training others on technical topics
   - Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
