Redefined Horizons is currently seeking a project manager to oversee the
development of a new geospatial toolkit at the company. The project manager
will work with the lead programmer to create and manage technical support
services related to the toolkit. This includes creating technical
documentation and the implementation of a marketing/sales plan.
Redefined Horizons is a staunch advocate of open source software. All of
the software developed as part of this project will be released under the
GPL or LGPL (Version 3). No patents will be enforced by Redefined Horizons
on the technology developed as part of this project.
This position is a part-time position. Remote work (telecommuting) for this
position is fully supported and encouraged. The amount and schedule of
working hours is flexible. Project Managers who apply for this position
should be US Citizens or have the ability to work in the United States
At a minimum, the project manager will possess these essential skills:
- Basic understanding of GIS and related geospatial technologies.
- Experience with sales and technical support for software related services.
- Excellent writing skills.
An ideal candidate for the project manager position will possess these
- Experience with sales and technical support for open source software
- Active involvement with open source projects.
- Audio and video editing.
- Public speaking.
- Basic Knowledge of Inkscape
- Basic Knowledge of OpenJUMP
