Based near Oxford, Neftex is the leading global geoscience content business within the Landmark-Halliburton family, building and delivering a digital 4D Earth Model and providing geoscience advice to the upstream petroleum industry. Neftex has a

worldwide.

We are looking for a Geospatial Developer to join a small team responsible for the development of web-based geospatial applications used by a range of oil, gas and mining companies. The candidate must be well organised, capable of multi-tasking
and a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will have:
* BSc qualification or higher in Geography, Geographic Information Science, Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent proven geospatial experience
* Experience developing Web GIS applications using JavaScript Web Mapping API's (OpenLayers, LeafletJS or similar)
* Proficient with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON & XML for application development
* Good understanding of OGC standards & web services (WMS, WFS, KML, WPS, SLD, GeoJSON)
* Proficient working with common GIS formats (ArcSDE, PostGIS, File Geodatabase, Shapefiles) and using desktop GIS software like ArcGIS or QGIS for data loading, manipulation and map production
* Able to develop workflows for automated geoprocessing tasks
* Experience using open-source geospatial software (GeoServer, GeoWebCache, PostGIS, other spatial libraries & tools)
* Experience using source control such as TFS

In addition, the following skills will be beneficial:
* Write spatial SQL functions and work with databases including SQL Server, Oracle and SpatiaLite
* ArcGIS tools and scripting, preferably with Python, and using tools like OGR/GDAL
* Javascript libraries like JQuery or ExtJS for user-interface design
* Experience with HTML5 & graphics (e.g. SVG or Canvas)
* Familiar with server-side technologies like Apache, Tomcat, Jetty
* C#.NET development experience, write server-side code and web services

Responsibilities may include:
* Develop custom web-based geospatial applications to promote decision support for our geoscience clients, in 2D & 3D
* Design user interfaces for geospatial applications and tools
* Test, debug, and refine application code as required for delivery
* Provide geospatial data management support of geoscience datasets residing in SDE and PostgreSQL/PostGIS
* Support advanced map production to a diverse range of geoscience applications
* Undertake geospatial data processing and analysis using a range of bespoke workflows for both complex vector and
raster datasets
* Provide database (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) maintenance support
