I have tested this before and it works, the problem is when you want to
use vmware instead of virtual-box, though I don't think it causes a
problem on vmware to have the wrong tools. However to get the right
tools you must use the ubuntu repos so that they remove the vbox tools,
if someone tries to use the normal way which is the files supplied by
either set it wouldn't remove the other and that would cause a conflict,
possibly an unbootable vm.

There is a ticket/idea to have the disc choose which modules to load at
boot, we just never got around to figuring out how to do that.

Note the actual build happens on vmware right now. We could state a
preference for Vbox though since it has an open source version and
include it tools by default. No idea if this will effect people running
Parallels. Are the computers for the workshops going to have VirtualBox
or some VM software?
