[Lizmap] HTTP request failed!

Hi all,
on a new LM instance I'm getting an error for the events demo project:
file_get_contents(http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/qgis_mapserv.fcgi?map=%2Fhome%2Fpaolo%2FDocuments%2FGis%2Flizmap%2Fgeogrupa%2Fevents%2Eqgs&request=GetCapabilities&service=WFS&version=1%2E0%2E0):
failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server
Error
whereas for the montpellier project all goes smooth. On another LM
instance on the same server both works fine.
I suspect this may have something to do with http>https redirect, done
automatically by certbot in the second case, but I cannot find a pattern.
I'll grateful of any hint.
