Hi,
yes this is possible but has not been implemented in Mapbender yet. But
more and more people ask for it, so we are probably going to implement it,
but it is not scheduled yet.

In the long run we are going to try to use OpenLayers as the map frame
because it can do all kinds of cool things and we are all OSGeo projects.

Hopefully this is not a blocker for you to use Mapbender.
