Hi Maggie,
I support the concept of this RFC, but it seems to be fairly weak on how it will be implemented. It would be useful to see what kinds of classes, methods would be introduced to support this, changes to the XML docs, etc.
Personally, I'd be interested in whether it supports the concept of painted relief, where hillshading is combined with colour bands based on elevation ranges.

Subject: [mapguide-internals] New RFC Posted
Hi, All
A new RFC (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/MapGuideRfc26) has been
posted. The RFC addressed how to make the MG stylize the elevation data,
which configured surface style in its layer definition file.
Please review the RFC. Any comments/suggestions and questions are
welcome. All feedback is expected by the end of August 12, 2007. If no
changes are required it is my intent to motion that a vote for the
acceptance of the RFC be made and subsequently voted on by the PSCs.
Thanks,
Maggie Yang
