[mapguide-internals] New RFC Posted

Thanks for your feedback.
But it is not feasible for this RFC. The implementation part would be
very complex if we try to give the detail introduce of what kinds of
classes and methods would be added, because there are about 20 classes
will added to support stylizing elevation data. So, you can image how
many methods will be introduced here. It would be a long story to
explain all those classes and methods.
BTW, this RFC does not change the XML docs. The layer definition file
used to describe the elevation style is supported by the Layer
Definition schema already.

Thanks,
Maggie Yang

Hi Maggie,

I support the concept of this RFC, but it seems to be fairly weak on how
it will be implemented. It would be useful to see what kinds of
classes, methods would be introduced to support this, changes to the XML
docs, etc.

Personally, I'd be interested in whether it supports the concept of
painted relief, where hillshading is combined with colour bands based on
elevation ranges.

Jason

Hi, All
A new RFC (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/MapGuideRfc26) has been
posted. The RFC addressed how to make the MG stylize the elevation data,
which configured surface style in its layer definition file.

Please review the RFC. Any comments/suggestions and questions are
welcome. All feedback is expected by the end of August 12, 2007. If no
changes are required it is my intent to motion that a vote for the
acceptance of the RFC be made and subsequently voted on by the PSCs.

Thanks,
Maggie Yang
