[mapguide-internals] fdogdal, ECW, etc

That's good news, Tom. How are things looking for MrSID, or is that already
working?

Hi Frank,

After changing to gdal_i.lib in our builds, the ECW support DLL that you
provided works. The FDO team will drop this change into subversion; so we
will not need a special built DLL for the release of MGOS 1.2.0.

Others,

I have posted the patched DLL at
http://download.osgeo.org/mapguide/releases/1.2.0-beta2/GDALPatch.zip.
The file in there should replace the one found in c:\program
files\mapguideopensource\server\bin\fdo. Give it a try, I will add
information about it at
http://wiki.osgeo.org/index.php/MapGuide_Open_Source_Using_the_Open_Sour
ce_Raster_Provider_with_Studio.

Thanks
Tom

Tom,

I changed gdal.lib to gdal_i.lib in the fdogdal project files (for debug and
release versions). This forces fdogdal to use the GDAL13.DLL instead of
statically linking stuff in.

I can't see why this should make any real difference. I did it mainly so I
could more easily replace GDAL13.DLL with new debug builds and stuff, but
magically when I did this the plugin loading started working.
I don't know how meaningful this is. But I would encourage it as a general
practice.

I never tried mrsid. So, no, it does not mean that.

Best regards,
