[mapguide-internals] MapGuide RFC 51 - Raster Re-projection

Hi Haris,

I remember that discussion on coordinate projection related to fdo, which included client utilities in general (see http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoClientUtilities). However, it never progressed very far. There were a number of options, provide projection support as a client utility, include a wrapper around fdo, or include within fdo. This still remains on the fdo futures list and is still open for discussion in that forum.

However, the raster re-projection support seems important and I wouldn't hold it up pending a possible future change to how fdo may do this. If we ever do something in fdo around this, then we can migrate code as necessary -- it would impact vector re-projection as well.

Is this something which can be part of FDO ?

Please correct me if I am wrong, this reminds me of vector projection
for vector data which I think would be nice that is part of FDO too.
