Yes... assuming that all of your existing data sources have coordinate systems defined, and that CS-Map is able to project between them and the popular vis CS.
That's how the enterprise.mapguide.com example is doing it. Their source data is the standard Sheboygan data in LL84.

I tried getting a Google Maps layer to work by adding it to an ApplicationDefinition based on the info in the Mike's blog:

But wasn't able to get both the MapGuide and Google Maps layers to initialize when part of the same map. I actually prefer the MGE demo implementation because it also includes a Google layer-type switcher. I could see extending this switcher to allow me to choose between Google layers and also MapGuide HTTP tile layers on all of my maps.
