[mapguide-internals] Windows 7 - using program data folders rather than program files

Zac,

Good suggestion.

This would require a code change to the server in order to understand the %appdata% as currently the paths inside the serverconfig.ini file do not support that directive.

Thanks,
Bruce

Subject: [mapguide-internals] Windows 7 - using program data folders rather than program files

With the all the new fangled security on windows 7, it's rather
annoying to have to
change the permissions on the packages folder to be able to import a package
via mapadmin

http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/348462-unable-copy-folders-into-program-files.html

I would suggest that the following folders belong in program data

Logs
Packages
Repositories
Resources
Schema
Temp
Wfs
Wms

serverconfig.ini and providers.xml also present issues here but that
would involve
more fundamental underlying code changes

can %appdata% type paths be used in serverconfig.ini?
