My misunderstaning I think.

When you say you have "trouble with the selection of elements" I thought
that you meant the *getting* of the ID from user-selected elements.

What I now think you mean is that your application is *setting* the MG
Selection set from your of known IDs - and when the encoded ID occasionally
happens to have a '+' in the string the object does not select on the map?

Can you confirm...
