 I tried this out and although I am seeing slowdown with 17 SHP files (200

 Any help that you can provide in pinpointing this problem would be useful.
 For example, what particular thing with SHPs in a single directory causes
 the problem (since I'm not seeing the same problem).  Also, does turning
 connection pooling on for SHP fix the problems?
