[mapguide-users] RE: RE: MapGuide OS with Google Earth

I just checked in a fix for this (issue MG213). You guys must be using
different builds of MapGuide if one of you is seeing the problem and the
other isn't, since it was not a random or timing-dependent thing.

On the bright side, while messing with that code path I also made it
more than twice faster to read features via this API (as measured
against SDF sources with default server settings), so reading features
for Google Earth purposes should now be significantly faster.

Well... in studio I can see a lot of lines, but in Google Earth the
export is minimal, check the pictures...

The demo on osgeo is very nice!

Willem,
I have copied a MapGuide package to my FTP site. You can download it
with
anonymous access from
ftp://mapguide.spatialgis.com/public/GE_demo_data.mgp

I hope this helps track down the problem.

Andy,

Could I have your shapes, so I can test this with my server?

Thanks.

I think it's not limited to PHP, but it may not happen with all files,
or it might also depend on which build of the server/web you are using.
I am not sure yet.

Is this a limitation of the PHP web extensions only? I am using the
.NET web
extensions and I have similar functionality programmed in .NET
(https://mapguide.osgeo.org/livegallery.html) and can display well over
100
features in the KML (KMZ in my case). I also just checked with some
older
PHP code based on the same code you are using from Jason Birch and I see
the
same thing, well over 100 features in the KML. In this case, it is
still
using the .NET web extensions but just PHP accessing the API.
