[mapguide-users] Mapguide in a disconnected environment

Right now we are using mapobjects by esri in our disconnected environment.
But it uses shp files whereas our Mapguide online version uses sdfs. It
would make life much easier to keep eveything up to date if we can use the
same file formats. We are looking to do a significant re-write to our
off-line software anyway because we are porting it over to Linux.

We really like Mapguide, so we are NOT going to turf it for the website. I
just don't know if anyone's tried to do this with mapguide yet.

Thanks again!
Tracy

Hi Tracy, I was just wondering why you chose to use mapguide to run in a
disconnected environment. What are the advantages over using arcpad or
oziexplorer? You can easily connect to gps and view a map in the background
and add observations and edit etc.
