The re-creation of all feature sources, layers, maps and web layouts is
painful (as I'm sure you know). For data sources, can we create packages
and then load those packages into the new version?

Subject: [mapguide-users] MapGuide Open Source 1.0.0 - RC1 Released
Today we are releasing MapGuide Open Source 1.0.0 - Release Candidate 1 and
launching the new home of MapGuide Open Source: http://mapguide.osgeo.org
<http://mapguide.osgeo.org/> . To coincide with the release a new freely
downloadable preview version of MapGuide Studio will be available.
This release is significantly faster and more robust than the previous 0.9.1
release and the installation has been simplified. The AJAX Viewer is much
more stable, complete, and now works in Safari as well as Internet Explorer
and FireFox. In addition the Map Agent now fully accepts Open Geospatial WMS
and WFS (non-transactional) requests.
Notes for users of 0.9.1
1. This release will require you to recreate your feature sources, layers,
maps, and web layouts. This should be the only time this is required. Future
releases will incorporate an upgrade script that will migrate and upgrade
the resources in an existing servers XML database.
2. The prefixes on all of the APIs have been changed from Aw to Mg. To
migrate your code from 0.9.1 to 1.0.0 you should be able to search and
replace Aw* with Mg*.
One word of warning, it looks like the new MapGuide Studio has not yet been
posted on autodesk.com. Stay tuned I will send a follow-up e-mail as soon as
it is available.
