[mapguide-users] Integrating remote layers into existing repository

The only way this could be done would be to do some programming to first
upload their Shape files as resources into the repository and then you could
do whatever you need to to display layers from it. Some users here are
working with publishing MapGuide Open Source data as WMS layers so perhaps
your users could use their client interface (such as ArcView) to view both
their local Shape files and the MGOS layers from WMS?

Subject: [mapguide-users] Integrating remote layers into existing repository

Would it be possible to integrate a shp file which is on a client's machine
in the repository which is hosted on a server.

E.g. There is a server running MGOS and having a respository. This server
has an app which shows the map from the repository and allows many other
functionalities to the user. Now there are some clients who have their own
set of .shp files on their local hard disk.
Is it possible to integrate these layers at run time and display them as
part of the map for that user only ?
