Thanks again Stefan.
I don't think any redirects are required with IIS and .NET set-up.

Hello Keith,
yes, it's MG Studio, but here with Apache/Tomcat on w2k server.
Can you find a file "C:\Program
Files\Autodesk\MapGuideEnterprise2007\WebServerExtensions\www\webconfig.
ini", too?. For (very) little more information about the ports.
Just something to think about: our MG with Apache refused remote access
resp. display only of web layouts in Studio or web browser preview when
running with following configuration lines in
"C:\Program
Files\Autodesk\MapGuideEnterprise2007\WebServerExtensions\Apache2\conf\h
ttpd.conf":
...
# MapViewer to MapViewerJava Redirect
Redirect /mapguide/mapviewerajax/
http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjava/ajaxviewer.jsp
<http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjava/ajaxviewer.jsp>
Redirect /mapguide/mapviewerdwf/
http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjava/dwfviewer.jsp
<http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjava/dwfviewer.jsp>
...
If anything: here the layers, Admin site etc. were accessible with
Studio from the remote PC.
The redirect with IP address did work correctly (e.g. Redirect
/mapguide/mapviewerdwf/http://123.123.123.123:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjav
a/dwfviewer.jsp
<http://123.123.123.123:8008/mapguide/mapviewerjava/dwfviewer.jsp> ).
Maybe it's something comparable?
Stefan

Thanks Stefan.
Is that with MapGuide Studio?

...none, I think. The only communication port between server and client
should be 8008; 280x is for "internal" communication of the ressource
servers.
With Studio and webbrowser, e.g., I should be able to access all
definitions, data etc. through a firewall with open port 8008.

What would be the effect on a MapGuide application of the firewall
blocking ports 2800, 2801 and 2802?
