Tom,
Please see the second item on this page. There is a link to a white paper
describing the process.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Unmanaged feature sources [No Viruses detected]
Hello all
I have around 5 GB of aerial photography I would like to use as a feature
source, a copy of which is already sitting on our MGOS server.
Is there an easy way to make an unmanaged feature source to use these files
directly, rather than have to copy them into the MGOS library? I see that
Web Studio has an option to create an unmanaged feature source, but I could
make no sense of it, and some of the Web Studio help files seem to be
missing, including the ones relevant to this function. Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Tom
