Hi,
aside from being installed in a different directory, the
installations are largely identical. MGE itself is identical, except
that it uses a commerical projection library and comes with a couple
of extra FDO providers that are not distributed as open source (there
are open source alternatives, however).
You can install MGOS server and web extensions on the same machine.
We have successfully run them on fairly modest windows XP machines.
MG has a 'bundled' installation option that installs the Apache web
server, this is convenient if you don't want to mess with IIS (but of
course you can't use the .Net extensions for development then).
Cheers
Paul
