Hi Bruno,

I am not an FDO expert. You may want to post this question to the FDO users or FDO internals list.

Thanks,
Trevor

Should FDO maps NUMBER(18,0) to int32 or int63 instead?

Well, in any case the FDO provider doesn't seem to like them either.
Just throwing that info out there in case it was of use to anyone - like
I said, I don't know Oracle.

Hi all.

Does MapGuide Open Source provide raster (ortophotomaps) support?

Not exactly.
If I had one layer visible, and tried to select all lines, only some
would be selected.
I will have a look at the data definitions for the tables, and see if
something is odd.

Yes.
It supports them with the GDal provider.
I have tested ECW, and others report success with Mr.Sid files.

Can you think of something that you might have done exploring it as the
possible cause?

It should work fine if everything was untouched.

I am unable to load my SDF data using web studio; So i am trying someother
way. If I can convert my data to mgp format then there is no need to load
the sdf i think. I need to load only the mgp using mapadmin. This will also
solve my problem. I have sdf but i dont know how to create xml files. So
that if I have xml and sdf then i can make mgp. This is what my problem.

now it's clearer what you are trying to do!

you can use an unmanaged feature source, which means you reference a sdf
file on
the server which lives outside the repository.. there for you bypass
webstudio...

the xml looks like, where C is a directory on your server

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

<FeatureSource xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="
FeatureSource-1.0.0.xsd">
  <Provider>OSGeo.SDF</Provider>
  <Parameter>
      <Name>File</Name>
      <Value>c:\data\DEMO~GEOMETRY.sdf</Value>
  </Parameter>
  <Parameter>
      <Name>ReadOnly</Name>
      <Value>TRUE</Value>
  </Parameter>
</FeatureSource>

Otherwise you can use the API in .NET, PHP or Java to upload into the
repository

The only approach I can think of, is to study one of the existing demo
packages.
Study the Xml to see how it is constructed, and create a copy.

You will likely want to use MapGuide Studio from Autodesk at some point.
Alternatively, if your only objective is to upload an SDF file, you can
try out my MapStudio project (which is very alpha at the moment).
Third option for access to SDF, is to get a FeatureSource xml file, and
modify the file path.
You can read/write the FeatureSource Xml from either the API or
http://localhost/mapguide/mapagent/mapagent.fcgi

I have the same problem like you but I'm using Mapguide 1.2.0rc2. I got this error msg "unable to connect to mapguide server. Please ensure that the server process is running and firewall rules have been set correctly" when trying login to MGS and this "Authentication failed. Please enter a valid username and password." when trying login in Mapguide Site Admin. Try to restart mapguide server, but I got this msg "could not stop the mapguide server v1.2 service on local computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.".
Some steps that I already take:
-disable firewall for mgserver.exe.
-repair mapguide server
-uninstall mapguide server/web ext
-and install it again.
and yet, the same problem...I don't know what else to check?can anyone help?

Thanks & Regards,
Srie Azrina

Do you have login trouble with the MapAdmin, WebStudio or MapGuide Studio?
If the problem is with them all, you might consider a reinstall, as that
will clear the password.

Hi Marius.

Did you ever get a response/resolution on this? I'm seeing the same
behavior.

Hi,

I've installed according to the explanation in the wiki section and also
installed the Sheboygan demo + an internal project based on SHP data.
Problem with both packages is that when viewing them in either the ajax
viewer, fusion and phpviewer the map is not rendered (see attached image). I
have checked the logs under /usr/local/mapguideopensource/server/Logs and
loading the packages

I suspect that fdo-3.3 is not working as expected. Anyone have some ideas?
Is there a way to trace or alter the errorlevel on mg?

Thanks,

Mange

I may also mention that when trying the API Rendering --> GetMapImage and
point to en existing library. The result is an empty (blank) png image.
