[mapguide-users] Newbie Question

Hi,

I'm new to MapGuide and indeed to GIS.  I'm trying to follow the Getting Started guide and I wonder if you can give me any guidance on the development language to choose.  I know a bit of PHP and a lot of Java, but I was wondering if choosing java would cause me problems in terms of running sample applications and getting support.

Any thoughts?
