When you run ./mgserver.sh you should get a very verbose startup since it is
running in /interactive or /run mode. My guess it is not starting up at all.
Did you get any errors during the compile?

I agree with you.
 
First I start apache daemon with './httpd' and I see It listening on
port 8008.
Then I start mapguide os with './mgserver.sh', but there's no output on
console, and there's no process listening on any new port.
 
 
What is the port used by 'mgserver'?

Finally I got it working.

A provider was missing, so mgserver didn't start.
I've rebuilt fdo providers and mgserver starts listening on port 2800.

The message "username/password invalid" at mapguide administration login
made me think to different problems.
