Hello Scott,
This is a problem I also had. The only way to get transparency working with
WMS Mapserver is with PNG production. My Mapserver Mapfile has the following
parameters:
MAP
EXTENT 10000 305000 280000 619000
IMAGECOLOR 100 100 100
IMAGETYPE png
INTERLACE TRUE
SHAPEPATH "/ms4w/geodata"
SIZE 860 590
STATUS ON
TRANSPARENT TRUE
UNITS METERS
NAME "DEMO"
OUTPUTFORMAT
NAME png
MIMETYPE image/png
DRIVER GD/PNG
EXTENSION png
IMAGEMODE PC256
TRANSPARENT TRUE
END
And I use the following wms request:
http://192.168.1.107:8080/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map=/ms4w/Apache/htdocs/mapfil
es/testwms.map&VERSION=1.1.1&REQUEST=GetMap&SRS=EPSG:28992&WIDTH=512&HEIGHT=
512&LAYERS=spoorwegen&TRANSPARENT=TRUE&FORMAT=image/png
Mind the image/png parameter. And I think the specification of the OUTPUT
parameter in the mapfile is also obliged.
With gif I had more problems. The only way I managed to get gif transparency
is using a label with the color gray (f.e. 100 100 100). Very strange and
Therefore I now use only png with WMS Mapserver.

I'll assume by the silence that WMS is LL84 Only and do not project in MGOS
and that transparency is not yet supported...please if you know otherwise
please let me know...

Systems Assigned to them...or do we Have to map in LL84 in order to use WMS
services.....
If We can Author WMS layers into maps with Coordinate Systems Could someone
Please Help me??????
Example:
Using SRS=EPSG:26916 (UTM 16N) and
