You Bet. Yea we are kinda lucky as far as the wireless goes.. several years
ago we had a mesh network built to cover the city. we typically have 512k to
the mobiles over apporox 90% of the city. Fire uses that in conjunction with
gprs as they travel outside the city limits occasionally.
The stream I get from cad is just an ascii stream containing cad unit data
and the raw gps string as output from the trimble(IE -
>RPV80974+4235984-1228854401428202<). By recomendations I mean recomending a
particular unit to respond to an incident based on gps data - not quite
there yet. We currently use Tiburon Unix CAD.
