[mapguide-users] WMS in a standard browser

Hello

I read the OpenGIS WMS implementation specification OGC 06-042 version 1.3.0, which says that "Web Map Service operations can be invoked using a standard web browser by submitting requests in the form of URLs".

Have anyone of you opened a web map service in a standard web browser?

/Janne

I am not sure what could be your problem.

If you are using standard Oracle client than It would be better to use version of King.Oracle provider for standard Oracle client.

If you don't have Oracle client installed then you should use version of King.Oracle provider with instant Oracle client.

Thanks for the response Haris. I am using the standard Oracle client, and I tried renaming and deleting the NLS_LANG entry. As mentioned in my previous post I also tried changing the value for this entry which you also suggested previously. None of this has helped and I continue to receive the ORA-12705 error when I attempt to test the connection. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Jon

I came on this issue in situation where it was installed stanadard

Oracle client previously (as usually described on www if you search for

that error).

Solution was to rename or delete that nls_lang entry ( as suggested on

www).

If you still have standard Oracle client installed on machine you can

also use King.oracle for standard Oracle client version.

I am attempting to get up and running with the King.Oracle FDO provider

but I am having some trouble making the connection in MapGuide Studio.

I am using the 0.4.4 version, and I have the latest version of Studio

installed(1.0.0.17804), but when i attempt to make a connection I get

the error: ORA-12705: Cannot access NLS data files or invalid

environment specified.

I have taken a look at the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oracle\NLS_LANG

setting and I have tried renaming, and deleting it. I added it back in

and changed the value to AMERICAN which is the setting for nls_language

for my database. I can't find any other information about this and I

was hoping someone else may have some other suggestions.

Finally I'm running Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1.0).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jon
