Yes :)
 
All they're doing is returning XML (with a custom type) or images.  It's all very browser-able.

I read the OpenGIS WMS implementation specification OGC 06-042 version 1.3.0, which says that  "Web Map Service operations can be invoked using a standard web browser by submitting requests in the form of URLs".
 
Have anyone of you opened a web map service in a standard web browser?
