If you want to see everything in working order. Setup a test box with CentOS
4.5 (redhat Ent). Everything works great as far as server/web and base FDO.
That is the supported OS as far as I have heard from Autodesk and everything
works great. I spent many weekends debugging when it could not have been
easier :)

CentOS 4.5 install with full development / workstation and go nuts with the
MG install documentation.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Example configuration for mapguide on
apache/linux?

I was wondering if anyone has the base configuration files provided by the
"apt installer" in linux. I would much rather use an existing apache
installation and the apt package does not compile cleanly on this machine
without downgrading curl (due to old functions removed yet still used by
apache 2.x provided with the tarball).

I would suggest the installation page for linux also list steps for not
using the apt package. I would gladly help write these documents based on
an installation within fedora core.

So far I have gotten all the virtual directories linked up and the sites
work great. Except for the mapagent.fcgi which gives a permission denied
with the various ways I have tried to alias it (to mapagent/mapagent).

Thank you all for your time,
Matt.
