[mapguide-users] ODBC/Oracle connection on Linux with
Easysoftdriver

Hi Robert:
In QA, Easysoft driver is used to test the ODBC-Oracle connection in
Linux in Tux SP1 for Oracle 10gR1 DB.
Questions:
Can 10gR2 native ODBC driver connect to 10gR1 and older version of
oracle DB?
Also, is this 10gR2 native ODBC driver in both the full client and the
instant client?
Thanks
TT

Subject: [mapguide-users] ODBC/Oracle connection on Linux with
Easysoftdriver
(If you are not connecting to Oracle through the FDO provider for ODBC
on Linux, you can ignore this email.)
The FDO provider for ODBC can connect to Oracle using an Easysoft
driver. Since 10gR2, Oracle introduced a native ODBC driver which makes
the requirement to use the Easysoft driver obsolete. We are considering
dropping support for the Easysoft driver.
If you are using Easysoft, can you please let me know.
Thanks!
RF
