I reread the email chain and noticed you talked about Points and
Longitude and Latitude columns. If that is the case you shouldn't use
the MySQL provider, but instead use an ODBC connection. You will need to
install the MySQL ODBC Connector on your server system (it's the ODBC
driver for MySQL).
You likely don't have any geometry because there are no geometry type
columns in your data.

Dave

I think you have a problem with the database schema then.
I don't think there is any live support, as this is an open source
project.
If you want real support, consider purchasing MapGuide Enterprise from
Autodesk.
Its basically the same product, but you get access to Autodesk support.

Oh, my fault. It takes the two coorner coordinates, not
a center
coordinate.
You must enter correct coordinates in the "lower left"
and "upper right"
boxes.
You must also select the correct coordinate system.
When you create a new layer, you must select a
datasource.
After selecting the data source, the names of the tables
in the
datasource should display in the combo box "Feature
class".
You can select the desired table here.
You can select the column containing the geometry in the
combobox
"Geometry".

Hi Kenneth,
First i want to give you thankyou for your quick
replay. Acording to you
when i go to create Layer then i can view only
Data resource used in
this
layer field and select saved Datasource name
and i save this layer as a
same name of Datasource But i am not getting
tables name individually
and
after that i make map using this layer then i
can view only Coordinate
system option and initial view option for
initial Zoom setting option
But i
am not getting any option for center coordinate.
For Information i am
using
MGOS 1.1.0, MySQL 5.0 and Autodesk mapguide
studio 2007.So please help
me.

You cannot see the tables on the
datasource. That is by design. The
tables are considered schema's within
the datasource.
You should be able to see all the
tables, when you are creating the
layer.
When working with databases, I would
recommend not using any
non-english
charaters, even though the database
supports it. Many third-party
applications break when they encounter
such characters.
Did you enter the center coordinate on
the map?
Try looking at the MapGuide log files.
They should be in
C:\Program
Files\MapGuideOpenSource\Server\Logs
There might be a message if something
went wrong.

Hi Kenneth,
As per your suggestion first i create
one datasource (Connection was
succesfull) and after that create layer
with existing datasource, and
also
create map and mention cordinate system.
But my problem is still same.
In
MySQL Database one table with 15 fields
and i want to create Points on
field
Longitude and Latitude. Any problem in
this field name ? During
creation
of
datasource, not getting any option to
select any specific table but
when
i
use join feature then i can view all
tables name for join purpose.
Help
me......

As Dave wrote, you must zoom in to the
data.
Since you cannot enter coordinates on
the layer preview, it will not
show.
To view data you must:
Create a datasource.
Create a layer with the datasource.
Create a map.
Select the coordinate system.
Specify the center coordinate manually.
Add the layer.
Press refresh.
If it still won't show, doublecheck the
connection on the datasource,
and press the "Test connection" button.

As per my previous email unless you have
the new MGOS beta there is
no
field to specify a coordinate system
override since currently MySQL
doesn't support coordinate systems in
the native schema. You can
specify
the correct coordinate system in your
map but you will have to zoom
and
find the data to set the extent
yourself.

Feature Source Cordiante
System
Hi All,
I have successfully established
connection of MySQL 5.0 Database
and
mapguide 1.1.0 with the help of Autodesk
MapGuide Studio 2007 but
when
creating Layer using this data source
then layer is not showing in
autodesk
Layer Preview window, I think this is
happning due to cordinate
system,
If i
am right then where is option of
providing cordinate system of
MySQL
data
source ? If i am wrong then please give
me idea, How to solve this
problem ?
